La Trenza Gallery

La Trenza Gallery is a contemporary art space based in Málaga, Spain, founded by visual artist Marta Troya. Run by an entirely female team, the gallery showcases a curated selection of emerging and established artists, with a strong focus on female voices in the arts. We support artists across disciplines—including painting, sculpture, photography, and ceramics—through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects. Our diverse skills and experiences make our work collaborative, dynamic, and adaptable, fostering meaningful connections between artists, collectors, and audiences locally and internationally.

La Trenza draws inspiration from the idea that creativity thrives in dialogue—between artists, audiences, and the world around us. This philosophy shapes our curatorial approach and community engagement, creating a space where art can transcend traditional boundaries and encourage experimentation.

With an international perspective, La Trenza offers personalised support to artists, collectors, and collaborators worldwide, communicating in Spanish, English, and French to ensure a clear and professional experience for anyone engaging with our exhibitions, artworks, or projects.

The Founder | Marta Troya

La Trenza Gallery was founded by Spanish visual artist Marta Troya (1995). Marta studied Fine Art and History of Art at Kingston School of Art in London, received a scholarship to study sculpture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and later completed her Master’s degree in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 2018.

Alongside exhibiting her work internationally, Marta founded La Trenza with the desire to create a small, independent space within the art world that reflects the values she holds most closely: sensitivity, care, and a heart-led approach to artistic practice. The gallery grew from her wish to bring together a community of artists whose work she has long admired for its emotional depth, material intelligence, and commitment to meaningful forms of expression.
